Weekly health update.
So this past week wasn’t too exciting.
I went to the allergist on Tuesday and they listened to all my issues and basically recommended that I could get allergy testing for a few things, but allergy testing for food can be 50% wrong (false positives) and blood allergy / intolerance testing can be 75% wrong (false positives). So the allergist basically recommended against both of those options and told me about basically doing my own experiment. That I could try to eat this amino acid drink that is basically just like straight calories for a week and then start adding foods in one by one to see what bothers my body and what doesn’t. It honestly sounds like a really fun thing to try. Probably because I am a scientist myself. However, my therapist pointed out this last Thursday (as I meet with her every Thursday) that I should be cautious about trying that out because I have such insane blood sugar issues. So, I think I’m going to get through these next few weeks and then meet with my primary care physician and see her thoughts on trying something like this. Again, I think it could show that I can tolerate some things more than others, but most likely I’m not allergic to anything, just intolerant.
So I’ll keep you all posted on that one.
Other than that, I started to sort of feel better. Well as good as I can feel on a daily basis. Still struggling with constipation and diarrhea at least once a day and then the extreme fatigue where I need to lay down and close my eyes for awhile. I don’t nap, but if I don’t give myself a rest, I will probably pass out.
However, I will say, it felt really good to just sort of feel okay if you know what I mean? Like the beginning of August was ROUGH. I thought I was dying. Sort of. I was SO unwell and even though I’m back to the usual unwell, I can get back to sort of taking care of myself and helping around the house versus just being a blob.
Well I know this blog post isn’t super insightful or interesting or long, but I’m exhausted and I’ll have much more at the end of this week. It’s going to be a big one!
